grove lane
a couple of weeks ago with puddles and late afternoon sun
grove lane nr wolverstone with a little snow.
done in the car with Grace. v cold.
snow looking out from our dining room table
christchurch park ipswich,
done there - cold
christchurch park sledging
also done there.
some more iPad drawings after the watercolours. they're easier - no drying and being able
to lay forms on top of others makes building a picture easier...
Following 2 visits to see the Hockneys at the RA, i have had an interesting discussion with Jay Merrick
about which marks (or tools) show the medium as it is (an electronic tablet) and which run the risk
of appearing to be paintings (or some other medium) - which is the reason i stopped using it for a while.
these seem to me to be the former and it seems important that they look like what they are
(aside from their visual qualities).
The other interesting thing is that i am using the mark characteristics of each medium in the other -
the spots are turning up on watercolours as are the lines and base washes on the iPad drawings.
i would be interested in others views (that is if there is anyone out there!).
I am planning a show of these at the Light Centre in Belgravia. I currently have a series of watercolours there.
